When can you motivate people about oral health?
Few suggestions:

During
administration of oral polio drops you can peep into the oral cavity of the children and if you see any brown - black spot or a cavity you can guide the parents or
guardians. This will prevent progress of the diseases.

While visiting ante-natal, post natal clinics and well baby clinics, you can educate mothers about infant's diets and dental care.

During check-up of school children for personal hygiene,
jaundice etc. you can also stress on oral hygiene.

During community meetings, panchayat meeting, opinion leader's
discussion and other social gatherings, debate can be initiated about good oral health.
What should you do after training?

As far as possible keep your oral hygiene excellent so that you can become the role model for the people around you. This will help you in inspiring people to adopt good oral hygiene habits.

Keep yourself away from
tobacco consumption in any form and discourage people not to engage in such activities . Help people to leave tobacco habits.

Learn examination of oral cavity and identification of common oro-dental problems so that you cab refer people to the dental specialists in time.

Organize activities/ discussions to eliminate health related taboos and misconceptions in the society.

You can
definitely spare some time for oral health out of your busy schedule.

These Training Manuals are available in Hindi and English on written request to the Project Director, national Oral Health Care Programme to various Govt organizations, NGO's, Dental Colleges etc involved actively in the Oral Health Awareness Generation in the country.
